Galeria Twierdza Zamość joined the nationwide campaign named “Pink Box”. In late October, a collection of personal hygiene products for women was arranged at the shopping centre. The collected donations were then placed in an easily accessible container in a distinctive colour.
The idea behind the initiative is to ensure that women have universal access to free-of-charge personal hygiene products in public spaces. This is to counter menstrual exclusion, faced by many ladies. During the campaign, packages of tampons and sanitary pads were collected. The articles were placed in a pink box installed in the women’s restroom.
“We collected more than 200 types of hygiene products. Everyone who actively joined the campaign received a beautiful heather in a pot from us,” says Karolina Sarnecka-Sadlak of Galeria Twierdza marketing department.
The campaign, held at the end of October, was accompanied by pro-health initiatives related to the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“As part of Pink October, we invited the Zamość Amazons, who conducted training sessions – educated how to perform breast self-examination and provided preventive advice. The day also offered nutritional consultations for people with cancer, trichological examinations and skin advice”, Karolina added.
